Make a gift and make a difference

Here are some examples of how your gift could be spent because every week money has to be found to pay for food for the residential children, medicines for the dispensary and mobile clinic, food supplements and drugs for those suffering from HIV/AIDs, salaries for the teachers, care staff and field staff as well as to fund training programmes in the villages for income generation, health care awareness and basic literacy.

£3 is the average cost of providing a child in Berny Scool or Planet Hope with the text books, exercise books, pens and pencils needed for a year

£10 will support a vulnerable child at Planet Hope or Berny School for a month

£20 -£25 will provide the monthly salary for a teacher in a non-formal class for school drop-outs.

£30 pays a health worker/animator's salary for a month

£50 pays for a nurse for one month

£100 will cover the complete costs of providing a young woman with 6 months training in basic health care. (A training which will enable her to get employment and benefit her community)

£120 will cover the complete care and education costs for a vunerable child at Berny School or Planet Hope for a whole year. (these figures are approximate due to changes in the exchange rate and an Indian inflation rate of 10%-12%)

Your gift will help to make a real difference in communities that have very little. Changes in communities occur through the interactions of many people, and because the problems that result in poverty in these communities are interrelated, this integrated approach, which is tackling education, health and income levels is the one that will bring about lasting change with your help.
